remedy fremantle.

I saw this post on hither and thither, loved it and thought, i can  showcase what my city has to offer as well. then i thought about some of the amazing shops that are located here in perth. i gave you a quick glimpse of B&M and my favourite second hand bookshop in my recent 'perfect day' post. but here is the first of many, i hope, of profiles of perth stores that inspire. today its remedy a truly lovely concept store located in fremantle. they also have two other stores one in leederville and the other in dunsborough. the lovely girl that worked in the store kindly let me run free with my little cannon powershot and this is what i saw.

before i left, i bought the most gorgeous travel journal. its yellow and has a library book loan log glued on the front. it was so perfect i couldn't leave it behind. you understand don't you?

i wonder if i work these as well as bennett works his wellies?

thought i was done for the week.. then i saw this

oh man, is he not the cutest little chap (his name is Bennett) you have ever seen. i stumbled across him on Urban Weeds, this tremendous street style blog from Portland. i wish i was as cool as he is. he makes wellingtons seems so effortless.

what are you up to this weekend?

i'm absolutely loving the 'nook' inspiration via anthropologie. i bought a cardboard safari piece during the week and after seeing this i have been convinced to attempt to clean my little nook, hang my safari piece and finish my quilt. because i'm back at uni, technically everyday is a holiday, but i usually like to work flat out during the week and then have my weekends off to go to the farmers market, have coffee with friends, cook, read, spring clean, be creative or just to do nothing. this weekend i will be cranking the ipod and enjoying the last of this perfect summer weather.

being in australia has its perks, but on the internet it also has some down sides. usually it means that although we are ahead, time zone wise, we are behind and miss out on amazing give aways like the $1000 giveaway on Cup of Jo for EmersonMade. By the time that i got up, went to uni and came back, the comments were at 5000 and there was no chance. i guess i will  just have to go about things the conventional way and buy online, instead of attempting to win them. upside i have been searching for a MOD dress like this for ages...now i can say i have found it!

sherbet

a few weeks ago i went to sherbert with some girlfriends. well actually we went to mrs.s for breakfast, which turned into lunch then, sherbert for dessert. last time i went to sherbet i had a really bad experience. the staff were really unhelpful, rude even and the cupcake that i choose was awfully dry.
however this time was a different experience, thankfully. it was hot in the shop, but the cakes were delicious. the tea was flavourful and refreshing and i even took extra home for the family. its such a shame when you have heard about somewhere and when you finally get there and its not what you expect it is very disappointing. this experience was rather redeeming. i will be heading back to have another cake and a chocolate cherry brownie and a slice and cup of tea.

a perfect day

i spent the morning reading a text for class under a tree in the garden. i enjoyed a lovely custard donut and headed to the port city for class. in between the souvenir shops and the cafes, there are the most lovely shops. one of them is B&M, i first heard of this brand at the subiaco christmas market last year. the couple that run the store were selling beautiful felt laptop cases and macaron pops.
today i stopped in and bought the loveliest periwinkle blue felt pencil case. as i left freo i thought about how much i love being back studying in fremantle and getting to shop in lovely stores like B&M.

Love Animals - Love Animal Planet

I saw the loveliest little fable style short on Animal Planet. I have looked everywhere for a better quality version but it seems that this is the only one on Youtube and Vimeo. I think that the way its has been recorded only adds to the charm. Plus I really wanted to share this with you.

PS how much do you love the Rob Ryan inspired start and finish!

snow riding made easy

A while ago I did a post on Downtownfrombehind one of the most original and creative tumblr's I have ever come across. The other day I was looking at it again and stumbled across this delightful entry. I just wanted to share it with you. The composition has such harmony and she makes riding a bike, in the snow, elegantly seem like child's play!

Elizabeth Taylor 27.02.1932 - 23.03.2011

I was saddened to hear that screen icon and humanitarian, Elizabeth Taylor had passed away. Her work in films like Giant, Cleopatra and my favourite Cat on a hot tin roof was definitive of both the era and her talent. Elizabeth Taylor will be missed, but not forgotten, she will live on in her films and through her work increasing awareness of HIV/AIDS.

head embellishments

ASOS has some of the most delightful hats and head accessories for autumn. I can wait to get out my scarves, faux furs, riding hat, glue gun and fake flowers to recreate these looks.
